Accepted to the GPPA today, but I don't know If i'm going to attend; I'm deciding b/t this and stanford, next week I have a case PPSP interview. If it get into the Case program, I most likely will go there.

i got into gppa dentistry today! yay!
m17, if i were you, i'd pick gppa. schools are getting so much harder to get into nowadays and it might be outright impossible by the time our undergrad is over. it just feels so nice knowing that as long as you keep your grades up, you have somewhere to go. but thats just me.

park5378: If cost is a factor, the decision should be easy.

cost is a factor
but so is my future
a lot of doctors i spoke to (including my dad) told me that BU is a bette rmed school that may give me more opportunities to train at good hospitals

chanski: (stanford or GPPA) Its a function of how much money you (parents) have in your wallet.

i got a good financial aid package at stanford, be about 26 thousand a year (compared to the 21 thousand a year at my state school u of illinois) so my parents are willing to send me to stanford, and i'm not too worried about killing my parents dreams of retirement if i do go to stanford.

For a long time it was JHU vs. UIC GPPA Med...

But I think I've made my decision.

GPPA it is! I'm liking my decision more and more... especially considering that I'd spend about $200k at JHU just for undergrad, whereas I'd spend close to $200k at UIC/University of Illinois School of Medicine total, in 8 years; definitely a good thing, since I didn't get any financial aid from either school.

I really (REEEEALLLY) wanted to go to JHU, but in the end I've found that GPPA is a better opportunity. Plus, now I don't have to worry (as much) about building a resume for medical school...

Anyone else decided on GPPA Med?

chanski: If stanford has a package of 26k per year, then the decision is a no brainer. Stanford is the way to go. Good luck.
