My son received his acceptance from St. Rose, both to the college and the music program. If he attends, he will be doing their music industry program with a jazz performance minor. He plays both electric and upright bass.

Congratulations to electricbassmom and son. Given your screen name, may I assume that the electric bass is his primary instrument?

Yes, that is correct. Electric bass is his primary instrument.

Thanks for creating this thread.
I was under the impression that Oberlin did not have early review for composition majors, in fact was told this specifically last year by admissions, therefore did not pursue early review as an option. I would be interested if anyone knows about this. Did they change their policy?

In reference to the previous post about Oberlin early review, it is obviously not true and a misunderstanding of information received last year. Too bad for us. Hopefully it won't affect the outcome by April and psychologically it might even be good since there are so many other great schools out there (even though Obie wannabees definately would not agree with that.) Congratulations to the posts with early acceptance to their comp program. You are truly very fortunate.

Musictwins, just think of the great music that has passed through your halls over the years. Keep thinking that as the numbers keep moving to the left. As to early review at Oberlin, early review is not early decision. The number of applicants for each spot is sobering (as it is at all of the top schools) whenever the interview.

squiggles and musictwins, when my D applied to Berklee, she heard about her acceptance just after midnight (online) and then her scholarship about 5pm the same day. I'll keep my fingers crossed for all of you.

Congratulations to squiggles1118 and son, and to musictwins, daughter and son.
Musictwins, can you specify for each of those twins whether their primary instrument is electric or acoustic?
