Westminster CHoir College

Why do the people who post about colleges and conservatories and places like that hardly ever say anything about Westminster?

My former choir director went there for his masters and loved it.

Because the choir college is well known in some circles but not others. In particular, within the choral world, its very well known. Im sure choral conducting and vocal degrees are good there. But if you're interested in certain other fields such as composition or trumpet performance, you probably wont want to fo there. It really depends what your concentration is.

In addition, (from what I understand) Westminster is generally known for its conducting and music ed programs, as opposed to performance. Although they do offer BAs in performance for voice, piano, and musical theater, the college's prestige comes from its programs in choral conducting and music education.

musical theater @ Westminster

Anyone know anything about Westminster's musical theater program? Is it any good? I thought it sounded interesting because I live in NJ and it's pretty accessible to me.
