Piano Major at Bard College (New York) / Conservatory

Can anyone give us their views or share their experience about majoring in Piano performance at Bard College / Conservatory - perhaps seeking a dual degree from both. Their conservatory program I believe is relatively new but seems very attractive. My son would be seeking to study piano performance intensively but at the same time getting a strong liberal arts education.

I cannot speak to the quality of their piano program, but I understand that all Bard conservatory performance majors are required to pursue a non-musical major in the college, no "perhaps" involved.

A frequent poster on these boards is a pianist who is now at Bard -- wmgan. he has not posted in awhile, but you may be able to contact him through this site.
My suggestion is to be sure to visit and have a lesson before you apply.
