| I'm a music parent in Pittsburgh and like a lot about Duquesne but I'm not sure how substantial its vocal dept. is. You should go online and maybe even email the head of the dept. Also check CMU, which I know has a substantial well-regarded vocal dept. Another idea is Baldwin-Wallace in Cleveland area. I know of a soprano who went there, won a summer scholarship for vocal studies in Austria, recently graduated and is attending grad school for vocal studies. Here's an off-the-wall idea: Sarah Lawrence College, where you can do as much or as little music as you like--no core requirements. Since it's right outside of NYC, the music faculty is excellent and you have resources in the city, too. |
