Look at all of the awesome CC Music Major forum kids!!! What an outstanding group we have here!! I feel kind of an "It Takes a Village" sense of pride here. I know that so many of us could not have done this without the wisdom of those who have gone before us and I hope we all stick around to pass our experiences on to future generations (and I also hope that in the next 2 years CC starts a Dance Majors forum HINT HINT). And ofc, all of us will need the sage advice of our cyber elders for that all important Grad school round of apps and auditions!!!

You are so right.

I haven't even begun my auditions yet, and already I feel like I've got a leg up on the "do's and don'ts" because of this forum! All the advice I've gotten has been so helpful, enabling me to just clear my head and figure things out. So thank you, MomOf3Stars and the dozen others who have answered my countless questions. :-)

w/ regards to how i already knew about my acceptance at certain schools...

actually, i was told right after my audition by the teachers at NEC, CIM, Peabody, and Mannes that i have been accepted. i got an email from the head of the piano department @ NEC a week or two after my audition to tell me that the piano faculty was impressed or something (it sounded a bit generic) and also one of the professors called my teacher after my audition at NEC and at CIM, i was told by a professor there right after, as well as another one that also called my teacher.
(it's funny bc i am apparently missing some documents at CIM and NEC and they still can't process me yet at this point. OOOPS!!)

at Manhattan i didn't know ahead of time...
and at NYU i was told a few weeks after my audition (again by phone to my teacher) that i got a full scholarship and TA position for piano.

@ this point, what i am concerned about is how much $$ i received from each school...this is very important and something the faculty couldn't tell me since it goes by my score and ranking at my audition...
