caligurl2569-I believe from a previous post you said you do not play an instrument/wouldn't be ready for an audition. Are you sure you can do the program at Fredonia without either of those? It is very competitive to get in there and it's not just the music ed or performance majors who have to audition- I thought all music majors did. We have been investigating this school, my daughter auditioned there this past weekend and it is at the top of her list. She is an excellent singer, but I don't feel there are any guarantees! (over 400 voice auditions for about 30 slots).Have enclosed link below with some info on the program, just in case you haven't read it. Not familiar with the music program at Oneonta, other than knowing they have a well-regarded summer "camp" type program for kids. I think most people in NY would agree that Fredonia is among the top (non-conservatory) programs in the state.

another thought

Have you visited both schools? That is a great way to get a better feel for where you would be comfortable and which program might be the better fit. From having been to Fredonia a couple times, everyone there (faculty and students), were friendly, welcoming, willing to spend time and answer questions. Can't speak for Oneonta, never having visited there.

Oneonta has a good program for music business, which is what I believe you were interested in. I had a student matriculate there after community college, and I don't believe any audition was required.
