| yes i'm postitive. i have a friend who is a freshman at muhlenburg and wanted to apply to steinhardt VP for spring 2008 and was told by admissions he would have to wait til the fall and spend his whole year at muhlenberg so that he would have enough credits to consider his application. |

| Hi all - we are STILL in Westerville Ohio - no way was I driving 7 hours in this weather so we booked another hotel room and are waiting until morning to head back. We have rain now, but there was a forecast for ice and snow between here and Maryland. The audition at Otterbein went well - they are incredibly nice here. Go for it Jeremy. |

| That's good, Jeremy, I think you mean at Otterbein? but am not sure. Sometimes I have questions and am afraid they have already been answered in some post that I have not read or have forgotten, so usually I don't ask. I think I remember you saying that you were accepted at Frost last year and should have gone. If that is so then they already know and appeciate your voice and you don't need to worry so much about feeling unwell at the audition. Posts like your journal and cartera's recent experience give me a sense of deja vu: last year my son travelled through weather so bad that the conservatory, Eastman, actually had to post online that auditions would proceed, otherwise one would have doubted. After driving the 7 and more hours to the audition, my son found that he had strep throat and said he couldn't sing at all. Luckily, he had sent a prescreening cd and a key faculty member had heard him sing before and he was offered admission. The conservatory was understanding in that respect. I hope you have the same good fortune. I think you need to settle down and start working wholeheartedly on your voice and I hope you find the right place for you this year. |

| mommybird,
Thank you for that post! Well, I would hope Frost knows what my voice is like--except that the judges were all different than last year! Yikes! Haha.
I'd be happy to be waitlisted this year really. And yeah I did mean Otterbein and not nyu (sorry bout that.) |

| mommybird - that reminds me that I advise everyone to have a really top quality CD done - even if no pre-screenings are involved. My D's voice teacher was not happy with her CD that we made for emergency use or she would have definitely sent it to Otterbein once we saw that forecast. If we could go back, we would have re-recorded the CD after the teacher heard it. She couldn't be at the session - probably the biggest mistake. My D was put too close to the microphone and we did not choose the right accompanist. Live and learn. Now with 2 auditions left, we still hope to get them in without weather or health concerns. |

| Hello barbmaz!
(ps thanks a bunch for your pm. i'll respond real soon~)
I think I might cancel my point park audition because I don't feel like I am going to be ready to audition in less than one month and it's the only day I can do. Oh well. Contrary to what someone posted, steinhardt at nyu said they would let me apply with less than sophomore status, so I might replace point park with nyu and see where that takes me. |

| Jeremy...You need to GET READY!!! At this point you have already had one audition. You know where the "kinks" were on that one. You need to polish that one up and move forward. A month is 30 days (give or take). With proper time with your voice teacher and/or vocal coach, you SHOULD be able to be ready in a month.
You say money will be a consideration? Well...NYU is both expensive and not terrific with aid...gapping students each year by tens of thousands of dollars.
If Point Park is the first of your next "round" of auditions, that would be a good way to feel ready for the rest as well. I know my son did his most competitive auditions LAST...and the others first. It was a good way to build confidence and feel better going into the others. |
