Music Production---Audio Recording/Engineering schools

As of now, I'm a Junior and I'm looking for schools in the Northeast (NY,PA,VA,MD,DE,MA,CT) that have a Music Production school. I know that NYU has the Clive Davis program, and Berklee has a department as well, but are there any other options, that have both a great program and great academics? I've heard schools like Indiana, Miami, USC, etc have programs like this, but I'm paticularly looking for schools in the NE

The Hartt School at UHartford has an excellent program. Acceptance is based on academic admission to UHartford and by audition to Hartt.

THE HARTT SCHOOL: MUSIC-DANCE-THEATRE

Also, a link to an earlier thread here Music Technology / Sound Recording

You may want to check out Duquesne in Pittsburgh. The owner of Fender Instruments is an alumni and made quite am impressive donation to the technology / production program.

I believe Peabody must have a program. When my D did a recording there, the studio was handled by students. I spoke with the young man and he loved it there, but I didn't get details about his major. Check the website.

SUNY Fredonia supposedly has a strong sound engineering department.

Yes, there is a 5-year Recording Arts program, basically a regular music major (instrument/voice/composition) plus extra recording art courses; the students in the program take science/math course at Hopkins

SUNY Fredonia does have a very strong program, it's students have to do the same audition as all the other majors and they opened a brand new studio in the fall.

Sagecoll, we're looking into many of these schools too, including Stevens, for this major. The audition requirements at Fredonia don't fit my S though, no jazz guitar, no electric instruments at all. Has anyone looked into SUNY Purchase at all?
