So, we all talk about getting into college, hwere to go, money money, and etc. on this forum.
But I'm curious to know something:
If not opera, what else can you do with a vocal performance degree? I'm just curious :P. I haven't researched it as much as I could but I do know afew others (like voice coaching, professor.) But, is that it?
Geared more towards the instrumentalist, this excellent series from Rice is a good starting point. There are a few segments geared towards the vocalist. Be sure to look at all the info on the left hand menu. Navigating Music Careers
RE: the above-referenced link. My computer froze so totally when I tried to download a video that I couldn't even shut it down manually -- I ended up literally pulling the plug on my computer. Fortunately, it restarted. Anyway - just to warn people. By the way, I have a brand new computer w/ plenty of memory. Perhaps it would wise to exit CC before you try a video.
Do you have Real Player? It's a .ram file. Basically its a 47 second clip of hearing "I do lots of different jazz playing/composing and also travel a lot."
I really liked the "tools for success" section on the left side of the page. Thank you Violadad!
