Music Business Degree Advice?

I was wondering if anyone knows about colleges in Los Angeles/Hollywood area with a very strong music program for music business/industry students. I want to one day be an A&R person at a record label. Any info about these schools? USC? Musicians Institute?

Not looking for schools in LA area, but midwest on east for music industry and business studies. Have already visited Belmont in Nashville. Looking into Loyola-NO also. Any other smaller schools w/music and business/industry studies??
Thanks in advance!

I forgot to add this to my post also. I've been looking at NYU Steinhardt and USC Music Business/Industry programs. Do I need to have an musical background (like singing, playing an instrument) in order to be accepted into the program because I must say that I don't play an instrument and I'm not that great of a singer (I wouldn't say I'm terrible but I'm not that great either). I live, eat, breathe music and the thing is I'm not musically talented. That's why I want to work in the business side of the music industry.

You can use the search this forum feature to find old posts.

It would be worth your while to study admission requirements as you puruse schools/websites. Many programs, particularly a BM as opposed to a BA or BS will be auditioned based programs, and some of these are very competitive.

Check out Northeastern, Drexel, NYU, and Belmont for schools that don't have audition requirements for the music industry programs. NYU and Belmont rank as
number one and two programs in the country and prepare you for management
positions ( so they say). Full Sail in Orlando has a fine reputation and is very well known. Then there is UMiami (Frost). Nice program but am not sure if you have to audition in. U of Georgia in Athens has the Terry school of Business (great school) that offers a minor in music business. Athens is a music town and Atlanta is an hour away. Lots of internships at the indies.

Research this area. We did. Found out the majority of people in the music industry have Bus. degrees not music bus. Its where you get the internships
that matters.
