i have an audition in Atlanta at the Alliance Theatre coming up...has anyone done an audition at the Alliance before??? I want to know what kind of space I will be in. I went to the alliance's website, and it seems to me that they only have large theatres, no black boxes or anything...

Hi! My son auditioned for two schools two years ago at the Alliance. It's a lovely theatre! Anyway, there are many rooms upstairs. Yes, there's a huge theatre on the ground floor. The rooms upstairs vary in space from black box size to classroom size- if I remember correctly. Hope this helps!

Hi again! My daughter did a walk-in audition for Long Island University at the NY Unifieds. She did that because there were two students who were walking the 12th floor letting students know they were doing walk-in auditions on the 4th floor. The students were great. Anyway, she said the guy who auditioned her was pretty straight up- no beating around the bush. He also said the application fee would be waved. The school is pretty close to Manahattan and it's about 70% female! My daughter took advantage of the extra audition but it's too small of a school for her. I know it's a college campus and they do give great scholarships if your grades/SAT's are good. They also use the Suzuki method for training. Hope this helps too!

Finding Unified Audition Info for 2013

Other than the date and location, is there a website you can find additional info as it relates to unified auditions in Chicago?

I monitored the NYC Penn State auditions...and for any of you (or your S/D) who auditioned, I had SUCH a ball with all of you! Truly wonderful students!! You could tell that there was so much energy and love for what they do in the air. I left that weekend feeling so invigorated and inspired. I wanted to say BRAVO to EVERYONE--NYC Unifieds can be overwhelming (and crowded!)
