Are people still getting calls?
I was thinking if I got in it would make sense if I was notified later because there were technical difficulties with my submission and it didn't go in until the 3rd of november (they did say they got it though). I don't know if that would matter though... I really hope that it didn't just... not get judged. I suppose that could easily happen because it was late.

I have seen one or two visual arts winners, but the seem DRASTICALLY out numbered by all the other disciplines. Does anyone know how they announce the finalists? Any possibility the haven't finished announcing all of the the disciplines? Or does anyone think they would wait till they were completely done with all of them? I applied for visual arts and I still have only seen two and I have scoured the entire internet looking for visual arts announcing their achievements and havent found hardly any.

if you're an HM or merit winner, they'll send you mail but first (at least from what i saw last year) they release a list of names on the website. but things changed this year, what with earlier notification, etc. they're still calling, so don't worry too much, but to my knowledge, some kids from every discipline have been notified.

Young Arts just sent out this notice: After receiving a record 10,000 applications this year, our esteemed panel of preliminary and intermediate adjudicators have reviewed submissions in nine disciplines! More than 600 winners will soon be announced, with approximately 150 finalists being invited to participate in YoungArts Week from January 6-12, 2013. Stay tuned...

Has anyone with HM or Merit been notified?

Stay calm ppl I'm a visual and photo and I also have not herd anything. Tuesday I called and said that they where still calling finalist. Considering Thanksgiving last week I don't think they got much calling in . There is still hope

If they were calling Finalists on the 11th, I suspect the only people who would still get called would be alternates for someone who can't come. D's year she got a certain amount of time to confirm, and if she hadn't her slot would have gone to an alternate.

My S (voice finalist) was told that verbal confirmation was last Friday and all paperwork for finalists is due Wed, Nov 28. So I suspect that all finalists have been contacted. Perhaps some alternates may get later calls.

That's interesting. I called YoungArts because I wanted to know if my stuff enter in okay They said that they where still calling Finalist. Well the wait should come to an end next week-- thank god! hopefully all winners would be notified next week considering Dec 3 is that following Monday. I have no clue whats up with Visuals Arts and especially Photography, which I haven't herd any finalist from that discipline. I really wish YoungArts had a notification system-- the wait is killing me D: !!!!

Got a letter today that I'm a Merit winner for Writing/Short Story! I assume that means HM has also gone out. Check those mailboxes guys! There was no warning-- no call, email, or list up that I'm aware of.

That is really awesome you should be really proud of yourself, YoungArts only selected 600 winners out of 10,000 applications! I wouldn't be surprise if HM where notified last encase a finalist couldn't make it!

Hi! I applied in Short Story and Poetry and got two pretty thick letters in the mail today from YoungArts. I won an honorable mention in short story and merit award in poetry. They were postmarked for the 21st. All finalists have been notified at this point. A friend called Friday morning and they said that HM and Merit letters were going out and next week, rejection letters will be going out.

I was also invited to YoungArts NY. Anyone else going or know anything about the regional programs? Super excited. :]

Do you get notified that they reviewed your DVD?

^ Do you guys know if Merit gets a monetary award? It didn't say anything in the letter or on the website, but Wikipedia says $100 and in years past that's been the case. Plus they sent me tax forms.
