Both are great programs. There is a thread here somewhere explaining the entire Syracuse program. What are your concerns with both? What are you looking for in a campus? One is a very traditional college campus and one is smack dab in the heart of NYC. Can you give everyone some insight as to what is important to you. Oh and both are expensive!

Thx. Have visited both, but looking for opinions out there regarding experiences good and bad with quality of instruction in all 3 areas, peformance opportunities, and post grad transition. Thx again!

I know it would be so wonderful to have someone say, "THIS program is great and THAT program is a little less so." But the reality is they are both truly fabulous programs, and I think Lulu63 is right. You just need to determine which one would be the place where you want to spend the next 4 years of your life.

We are in somewhat the same boat. D has received some wonderful acceptances, and we were struggling a bit with which one to choose. I woke up one morning and realized that I had been trying to determine which one was the "best" from among them and that in all honestly they are all GREAT! So once I let go of the notion that there was one true "BEST" program, I was able to relax and guide D to focus on other things, like which ones will best provide the experience she is looking to have and which ones we can best afford! That is making the decision so much easier.

Both are great programs if somewhat different, but even more different are the colleges as a whole. Does your daughter want a more traditional college experience? Does she want a "true" campus? Does she want a school where sports are important? If the answers to these questions are yes then Syracuse is a better fit, if the answer to these questions are no, then NYU is a better fit. If you can't decide based on the programs go with the schools as a whole, she can't truly be happy with either given their differences.

Thx. Yes, we've been looking at those pros and cons to both - so was looking to see if there are any significant discrimminators between the two programs because one has a more attractive academic reputation and location, but will require some significant debt - while the other should not result in any debt after graduation.

Well I know you PMed me but I just saw this post!! No DEBT is wonderful!!! You are lucky to get that from either of these institutions.
