Ive heard good things about it as far as the music industry goes. I know they have a MT major. Can anyone tell me if they know about their commerical music major vs the MT program at Belmont?

We're originally from Nashville and I've spent a lot of time on the Belmont campus. My son is a MT major at another University, but he has many friends at Belmont, mostly on the comercial music side, however one of his best friends is going into her 3rd year MT.

This is kind of corny, but if you YouTube "Christmas at Belmont 2011" you'll see a bi-annual (I think) ginornous Christmas concert produced by Nashville Public Television. You'll see highlighted the Musical Theatre majors and the Commercial Music vocalists.

Eric went to see "HairSpray" at Belmont over his Spring Break and loved it.

In my opinion, the commercial music vocalists can lean towards a genre (like pop or country) however, I'm sure they are well trained and versitile (they are phenomanal singers.) As you know stage singing and pop vocals each have their distictives.

I'm a Belmont fan.
