Pelky, we'll be in Philly at UArts on Saturday, too. Good luck!

Sending best wishes to all of your kids who are starting on their audition season. And so it begins. I will enjoy following your journey this year and can tell that you all seem to have a bunch of talented kids. Things will play out and work out and I can't wait to welcome you to "the other side."

Actually my daughter already auditioned at Point Park, so this won't be her first. She had a great time there and met some really nice kids, but she said the dance audition was hard!

For those auditioning at UArts this weekend, if you would like suggestions for restaurants and things to do once the auditions are finished, or have questions about student life in Philly, feel free to ask. My daughter graduated from UArts in 2011 and my office is one block away from the Terra Building.

OK, MichaelNKat, is there a place near UArts to get an all-fruit fruit smoothie? - like a Jamba Juice or something like that?

Try Red Mango at 15th and Locust Sts for fruit and non-fat yogurt smoothies. Smoothie King 1625 Chestnut St. Honey Grow at 16th and Sansom for smoothies you can get with just fresh fruit and ice. I've been to Red Mango and Honey Grow and can vouch for the quality.

Woo, thank you!! You just saved me a ton of time. After Point Park, we searched all over the place before we found one!

There is also the Amazon Cafe in the food court of the Bellevue Hotel, right across Broad Street from UArts' Terra Building where your audition is being held. It slipped my mind last night.

This was the first weekend of auditions for my D 3 years ago. Hard to believe it was that long ago and she is now a college junior. Sending good wishes to all and looking forward to following your journeys!

Today is the first audition, and I'm already realizing it stinks to be the parent who stays home!

I understand! I just spoke to my husband to fill him in on what's going on. I feel he is missing it also.

Keep your chin up, jeffandann, waiting for the letters, email, and phone calls from the schools on program acceptances/rejections was worse for me! She will be great and you she'll have wonderful stories when she arrives home!
