I've found myself in a position where my parents won't be able to help me pay the application and audition fees. I'm looking for any, and ALL possible ways to help me raise this myself. I will have a job starting in august, but still that is minimum wage with few hours. I'm hoping to attend Unifieds this coming february, and with the 8 schools I'd hoped to audition for, the application fees really add up. I'll be taking another look at all 8 of them, and possibly trying to eliminate a few, or at least rank them so that I can pay in order of importance. I've checked out all sorts of scholarships websites and such, since I'll also have to pay for college itself on my own. The largest hurdle for me is going to be coming up with the necessary money for auditions and application fees in such a short amount of time. Any ideas or tips are greatly appreciated.

Do you study at any kind of performing arts center, dance school, or work with any local theater groups or instructors? I have found that many of them will be willing to help promising students by sponsoring fundraisers, offering scholarships, etc. Our local community theater sponsors cabaret fund-raising performances on a regular basis -- they are inexpensive to produce, and part of the profits can be donated to a worthy cause.

I believe you can ask for a waiver, and some are no fee.
