Bumping again, as this is already on page two! If you're starting the process, you may want to read this thread before the pinned ones about acceptances etc. |

Thanks for posting the article (your daughter's, right?)--I teach arts at the high-school level and have just shared this on my Facebook page, as I think so many kids (including my own) need to hear her advice. |

Times3 - She is my daughter. We learned so much from CC when she was a senior so we try and stick around and pay it forward. Glad you felt the article was worthwhile!

Can you suggest some BA safety schools for my sophomore son to consider? We are beginning to compile a list of schools to visit so it would be helpful to hear other people's thoughts on this.

There are big lists of all types of schools both here The MT Project List of Musical Theatre Programs and here Big List of MT Colleges by Program Type
Keep in mind that just because a program is a BA doesn't necessarily mean that it's a safety. Some non-audition programs that I personally point some of my students to when they're first considering are CalState Chico, Columbia in Chicago, Stephens College in Missouri or Carthage in Wisconsin (especially to students who identify a bit more as singers). The list of non-audition schools seems to get smaller and smaller -- many of the programs are choosing to audition their students now. All best to you and you son as you start this journey!

I didn't realise the North Central was non-audition! I've made that correction on my site, thanks! UTulsa does require auditions though.
Also a note on my post - the schools I listed are just a FEW of the non-audition BAs (some are BFAs as well) out there. Those are simply the ones I list first to my students upon consideration - many other good choices out there!
