associates, bachelors, and masters! Oh my!

Can any one help me with my situation?

I want to major in musical theatre, but i'm going to a CC first and they offer Associates in Music and Theatre.I've set myself up to get my associates in music. Eventually i want to go back and get my Masters in Music.

any advice on this? or would this just screw me over?

You always run the risk of losing credits when you transfer schools. It depends on both the CC and the school you hope to transfer into. Musical theater programs tend to be very specific about their requirements. For example, an acting class at a CC might not have the same content as an acting class in a MT university program. Of course you should check with your prospective school(s) -- but my suggestion would be -- take academics and basic music classes at the CC -- i.e. music theory, sightreading, piano, etc.
