Injured nose and singing?

Last night my daughter got home late and tried to find her way through her apartment in the dark. She walked into a door (isn't that an old story!?) and banged her nose. She now has a swollen nose with a huge bruise across the bridge.
I just reread a thread on the parent's cafe about broken noses, and think she should probably get it checked out to make sure it doesn't need to be set. But she has an important callback tomorrow. And from what I read she can probably wait until after that to get it set, if necessary.
Does anybody have any experience singing with a broken nose? I think if she sees a Dr. they will pack it with gauze, and that would make it impossible to sing.

Advice?

I am hoping the bruise on her nose does not spread to her eyes by tomorrow.

Thanks.

Friend of daughter's was in a summer production. Got hit in the nose near the beginning of the show (accidentally!). This is his anecdote. Finished that number and was able to make it offstage before the nosebleed began. Found any number of rags, tissues, whatever backstage, and worked to get things under control. He did pack his nose and continued the show (his next scene had him playing air guitar...so little chance of holding that nose). Somehow he made it through, and found out later that it was, indeed, broken. He did have it set later. Looks great now.... Don't know if that's the recommended protocol...but he made it through, and sounded like it was okay. The restrictions he had as he was healing were more to do with dancing.

Hope your daughter feels much better tomorrow!!!

Thanks. She made it through the weekend, swollen nose and all, and will see an ENT on Wed morning to see if it is broken and needs to be set.
