schools with equally (or close) strong programs in MT and Acting?

We have ben scouring the boards here trying to get a feel for schools that are known for both programs in MT and Acting. We have come up with the following:

syracuse
ccm
otterbein
webster

Are there others that we have missed? WE know a number of schools have both programs, but sometimes one or the other is considered the strong program.....D will definitely have those on her list too....

thanks!

THanks KatMt...

...of course CMU..don't know how i left that one off!

I didn't realize UCLA was known for its MT program.....we are west coasters, so its definitely on the radar for acting...

We will look into Ithaca and UArts...thank you.

I was under he impression, and my be an incorrect one, that something happened this last year with the MT studio at NYU....it was in transition or something similar......so waiting to see wha happens there.

again, i appreciate your help very much!

Check out the Hartt School at UHartford. I hear equally good reports from the MT's and the Actor Training students.

at NYU the New Studio is for Acting & Musical Theatre. The students will follow the acting curriculum together from what I gather from the website.

Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University has strong programs in both MT and Acting. I am a freshman musical theatre major at Roosevelt, and I can tell you that the MT and Acting programs have a lot of overlap. Feel free to contact me if anyone would like specific information. I'd love to help!

At UArts, for the first 5 semesters, acting and MT majors are mixed into the same core Acting Studio classes. They also take some of the same speech and movement classes but not necessarily at the same time.
