does anyone know how long schools wait to decide on on-campus auditionees and send results? surely, they don't wait until after unifieds and other "big" auditions are complete, do they?

It depends on their admissions policy. For example, UArts has rolling admissions and will usually let you know within 2 to 4 weeks if you are in or not. However, most colleges will wait until after all the unified and on campus auditions are required, and then form their classes. You should hear from most schools in March.

Some schools wait until they see all or most of those auditioning, some have early admissions policies, some operate on different schedules due to different adminstrative restrictions regarding scholarships. Noone can give you really useful information here - you need to contact each school you are auditioning with for reliable info on this.

My d. auditioned in November for NYU and didn't hear back from them until the regular decision time. Memory is failing me, but it was April or May.

Yes, mostly only schools with rolling admissions let the auditioners know fairly quickly. There are some, like Ithaca, that let *some* students (the ones they are sure they really want or the ones they are sure they don't want) know quickly, but then they wait on the rest. Unfortunately, you have to get used to waiting when you go through this process!

Last year, my daughters first notification came on Feb 20, and the last one came April 1. It is an agonizing wait. I remember it well. Hang in there!
