USNA admissions rep question - please

Three nominations, but none for USNA.
What are chances now?
Anything I can do?

From what my BGO told me last year, if the USNA really wants you, they'll go to another MOC who didn't give all his possible noms to USNA and ask for him/her to give you one. But that's only if they really want you.

Do you have an LOA to USNA?

Thanks for the reply.
No. Academically qualified but no LOA. Do you know if LOA's are held up pending medical waivers?

For the most part, no. LOAs are given after reviewing the application submitted to the admissions board. They are 'conditional agreements' usually given before nominations, interviews, DoDMERB results and such. If you successfully complete these requirements, then you'll get an appointment.

So to answer your question, no, LOAs are not usually held up pending waivers or DoDMERB.

If I were you, I'd call my BGO TODAY and go through every option you have. The harder you try, the more he'll take note of your determination to get in.

mg3456c: I received my LOA and the only thing pending was that I got a medical waiver, so in my case they are not.

i have a question totally off subject: a person i know failed ap chem for the semester and shes not too worried because she said usna doesn't take that into account for her acceptance. that doesn't sound right to me because for any university i applied to a D or F was unacceptable and your acceptance is rejected. so i was wondering what the deal is with this. thanks!

She should be worried! USNA is no different and can deny you acceptance even if you have an LOA or appointment should you fail a course or do something else that could be frowned upon by the board.

I am SO glad I don't remember ANYTHING about my application!

Sheesh! What a PITA!

So, DMeix............ How are things in the swamps of Dagobah? If you happen to stumble across a slightly-used X-Wing in a bog somewhere, give me a call, will ya? I'll buy it from you, cheap!

The foundation kids were told, in no uncertain terms, that "Alpha's and Bravo's" are expected; "Charlies" will send up a red flag to the admissions board, and "Delta's" and "Foxtrots" are "just not acceptable."

These kids already have "seats" for the class of 2010 that are "theirs to lose".... I hope she gets here grade up before that final transcript gets to the academy!

Zaphod--

Sorry...no X-Wing yet...but my neighbor might know something. He pretty much keeps to himself...but he did stop by to invite me to dinner once. I could hardly understand the little guy...he just kept on talking all backwards-like.
