USNA Candidate's Application

Hey all,

I was just wondering if anyone who's already gone through the process can address this question: In the USNA candidate's application, which teachers are recommendations needed from?

Btw, anyone else here going to NASS session 1?

I believe they want recommendations from English, Math, and Chem/Physics teachers.

Yeah there is no physics/chem recommendation

I had a hell of a time getting these when I moved last summer, so if you will be doing anything in the near future that will prevent you from easily getting parts of your application done, do it NOW, trust me.

This thread is a list of everyone accepted to NASS this year. Do a search and you will find tips/advice for it. Have fun!

erbium: If they did it like 2010's, then they'll send you a small letter in the mail with the application information.

Alright, thanks. Last letter I received was the confirmation of payment to NASS.

Yeah...2010 was all online. You just get a small letter with the web information.

I have to admit...2010's application just wasn't as fun as 2009. I loved the Questionaire with all the "like-dislike-neutral" questions. My favorite? "Would you enjoy chasing outlaws in a sheriff's posse?"

Of course I put a big dark bubble in the "Like" column.

we got our candidate numbers shortly before NASS, which allowed us to log in to CIS and begin the app process. like others have said, approach teachers about recommendations as soon as you have access to the application online. you'll need their e-mail addresses.
