Naval Academy Announces Debut of Live Video Streaming

ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Naval Academy, the Patriot League and College Sports Television Online (CSTV.com) announced it will be offering more than 100 men and women's basketball games as part of the new Patriot League All-Access package beginning in January 2007. Almost every contest will be available through video streaming on www.PatriotLeague.com for the 2006-07 Patriot League schedule.

The Naval Academy will provide a free trial for the Dec. 20 men’s game against Washington (Md.) at 7:00 pm, the Dec. 30 men’s game against Yale at 7:00 pm and the women’s game on Dec. 22 against Air Force at 2:00 pm. The subscription service for Navy home games will coincide with the beginning of Patriot League play, with the women’s team taking on Lehigh at 7:00 pm on Jan. 9 and the men’s game against Lehigh on Jan. 10 at 7:00 pm.

The Patriot League All-Access package is available for $6.95 per month. The monthly fee allows a subscriber to watch any Patriot League basketball game that is part of the package. The first games will be streamed on Sat., January 6. Current Navy subscribers to the All-Access package will not have to pay an additional fee for Navy games, but will have to buy the Patriot League package to see the games that Navy is not involved in.

“The broadband initiative of the Patriot League is an integral part of the League's branding and marketing plan. This package allows friends, family, alumni and fans to follow our institutions throughout the season,” Patriot League Executive Director Carolyn Schlie Femovich said. “The Patriot League All-Access video streaming package enhances the visibility of our student-athletes and member institutions, as well as the Patriot League.”

In addition to the video streaming capabilities, fans will notice a major change in Alumni Hall, beginning with the men’s game against Delaware Valley College on Dec. 17. Sunday's game will mark the debut of Navy's center-hung four-sided videoboard in Alumni Hall. The 9'x 9' Daktronics ProStar LED display will be utilized for instant replay, full in-game scoring and entertaining features at timeouts and halftime.
