Let us all hold in our hearts, thoughts and prayers this dear family who have given so much of themselves and their gifts to the service of our country.

And for the poor young wife - now widowed - having to face this unique grief you hope no young woman would ever have to face -

I am sobered, and grateful that we have Americans like these to call our own.

A sad time for USMA and this family for sure.
And it breaks my heart everytime I think about the names of the fallen being read in Washington Hall. Very, very sad.
