Yup, it's a military thing....never write anything in stone. My youngster summer, I didn't find out until the first week of June that my 1st block was starting a week before the normal date.

Extra:
Non-approved (as in it doesn't count for summer training) internships
Additional training (at own expense)
Voluntary summer school

An article in "The Capital" states that Commandant Klein has opened Herndon up to all plebes. The problem is that quite a few plebes received Block 0. My son and 21 other plebes from his company will be on Block 0. If there are that many from each company there will be quite a few less at Herndon.

and jadler said they'll be gone for Sea Trials, too. how many plebes are normally in a company? around 30-40, right? so missing 21 plebes for Sea Trials is going to be interesting.

whats the point of having Sea Trials and Herndon if half the class is missing? I guess I kinda always saw the two events as a bit of a right of passage... Having half the class gone only cheapens the experience.
