If it makes you feel any better, two years ago, my daughter only received "snail mail" notification, and that was in mid to late March. BTW, she did get to go to NASS, and she will soon be a "Plebe no more!"
Here's hoping that you will all soon receive that email or snail mail acceptance!

I guess I wouldn't expect a second wave to be soon (unless they're just breaking it down by areas or groups or something) since there was nothing in the email that gave you the option to decline. It told you not to reply to it. So they won't know if anyone is declining until the packets get mailed out and returned by mail, which will take awhile.

| Just a thought here......
Congratulations to all who have accepted NASS offers. It is an exciting time that will help gel your decision to apply to any SA.
Concerning the email notifications..........we were notified snail mail last year. When son entered process of applying to USNA, we had some email hang ups with them. As did others in the process. USNA sends emails to your school, specifically to registrar and English and Math teachers and asks them to fill out a form evaluating the applicant. Sounds simple enough. Well, not so. We had HE Double hockey sticks getting USNA email to be accepted. MANY servers tag email from USNA as questionable and do not let it pass.
We had to get personal email addresses from the teachers, registrar, and even then one of those wouldn't accept USNA email.
So, I wonder if that could be happening here if blanket emails are the format used for initial notification??
Also, as echoed above, do not fret if you are not accepted. Again, many things come into play: priority recruiting areas, etc. Acceptance does not guarantee acceptance into USNA nor does not being invited for NASS mean you have a reduced chance of attending USNA. 1800 attend NASS. Many will decide USNA is not for them. Others, as noted in previous posts, are attending multiple summer leadership programs and will try to attend another SA. NASS is not a guaranteed path to admission.
About the email thing, there will be someone in USNA Admissions handling NASS. Those of you who have not heard by early April might give them a call, just in case there is an email hangup. USNA did not seem to acknowledge that the emails they sent our school did not get through. So, they did not receive them back. Or perhaps, it was all part of the grand scheme to see if we could navigate a sometimes confusing, challenging, demanding admissions process!

I have not received mine either, and I applied on February 1st. I am definitely more interested in Air Force though, and I was accepted into their seminar and attending session C! I live outside of Philly though, so going to naval SS wouldn't hurt! Hope I get accepted!

Still no email *sigh*. It dosen't really matter though because I probably will be at Girls State that week. Plus, Air Force is my first choice.

A friend of mine at my HS got his e-mail, but I haven't gotten anything yet, so I'm doubting it's based off of region or anything like that.
I sent an e-mail to USNA Admissions so hopefully I can figure out when I should hear back from them.

ecbo: Don't worry about your swimming ability for NASS. Many "aquarocks" get through it just fine! Even as an incoming Plebe, they don't assume that you already know how to swim.
OTOH, if you can't swim at all, it's a good idea for everyone to learn. If you can swim, but you're just not good at it, practice as much as you can.
If you do get an appointment to USNA, you will be able to swim before the end of Plebe year!

I still haven't heard anything about summer seminar and I think I will take the same road as acgeaux7 and go directly to the addmissions department to see if there is something I am missing out. I've received accept. to both West Point and the Air Force Academy Programs, but hard to wait on the one you want the most.......

Sounds like a plan the worst is that you'll have a decision, either way and/or an explanation as to merit of continuing to wait or otherwise. And as many have said, don't be discouraged if your answer is a "no." USNA has begun a much more aggressive targeting effort in its effort to diversify the appointment pool, notably in NASS which is of course, one of THE key interest-generating and recruitment tools. You are beginning one of the great adventures of your young life. Great good luck and let us know how you go. It's fun, even vicariously.
