My son chatted with Naval Academy on CollegeWeekLive (a virtal college fair). They said that 75% of acceptances have been mailed. All acceptances and rejections should be mailed by April 15, since application deadline was March 31.

OK, just to confirm this, acceptance/registration/tuition is officially due on April 15th? Because I was getting mixed messages after reading that we needed to send in everything within 2 weeks of receiving the letter...I was all in a huff last night after reading this, thinking I had plenty of time to get everything in.

I was accepted to the 1st Session, from (currently sunny) Seattle...I'm hoping to be sailing for Navy in 2010.

I STILL have not gotten any communication from navy about the NASS. Should I contact someone? They'd still send me something if I got rejected, right?

No, PLENTY of people don't hear about their possibilities until April, even May. Don't panic. Blessed are those who wait on USNA ...

@laxman92

I mailed mine in like a month ago, i think it said that if you didn't mail in by April 15th, you lose your reserved slot?? Not sure.

Does anyone know if they mail you something confirming that they got your application and cash?

The NASS info ALWAYS says that. Some don't even get it until later.

If you have sent your acceptance and you have heard nothing from USNA, you are probably OK. Two years ago, we were also nervous about not hearing whether USNA has received my D's NASS acceptance and payment. The only notification we received was to inform us that she was about to lose her slot due to non-payment (remember, the payment and forms go in separate envelopes). It took quite a bit on my part to convince the folks at USNA that we really had paid, but all's well that ended well.

Moral of the story: if you get a letter from USNA saying that you *didn't* pay for NASS, don't ignore it!

My son sent his in immediately as well and we were only contacted because I forgot to put our insurance number on it. I left it blank, meaning to grab the card later, and then ended up mailing it without it. So I know they got it at least, but no other confirmation.

Yes, I got it today, I applied late, on March 31st. I did not know about the summer program before then. Does anybody know how many people are on the wait list this year? Has anybody been on the wait list and actually got called to go?
