the best prep for NASS is to focus on running, and work on upper body strength (pullups, pushups). It will prep you for both the CFA and PRT.

| Help?
I got accepted in Summer Seminar Session One! But my acceptance forms (Medical Attorney Papers, etc) never reached the academy, luckily I called them up. My spots still reserved cause I paid online, but I need to send those forms in. I think the admissions office said they'll send me the forms again but just in case the post office fails on me again and since there is only 10 days left, can anyone send me an electronic copy or a link ro reprint those? I've been looking everywhere but can't find any. Thanks! Bohannon92@hotmail.com |

Wow. I got rejected to USNA summer seminar 3. I have a 3.66 GPA, 550 math 520 critical reading PSAT, leader in boy scouts(almost eagle), three sports, and run a 5:10 mile. I have a 280 on the USMC PFT. There must be some damn good applicants this year. Dont take your acceptance letters for granted because some wanted that really bad. Parents, that goes to you, too. If your pushing you kid to go to USNA for the free college, think again. There are some candidates whose parents are against the military and the kids just want to become officers in the Navy or Marines. I know for a fact a friend of mine is just applying for the free education, where I am planning on spending at least 20 years as a Marine Officer.

K1ll, honestly your SAT scores aren't really that great. You have good athletic ability, good leadership stuff, but you really need to improve your SAT and GPA scores.
Also, be weary about saying "I am planning on spending at least 20 years as a Marine Officer". Just focus on getting into here before you start thinking that far down the road.

I heard there was a 3 mile run. Is that true?

My son mentioned it in passing, but it was apparently at a slow pace (not a lot of sprinting or timed like much of the other stuff that week). I think his exact quote was "all we did for PT that morning was a 3 mile run".

I just got back from Session 2. There was a three-mile run. All the platoons ran it at the same time. They woulnd't let me go because I twisted my ankle during Sea Trials, but everyone told me that it was really slow.

Congratulations to all of you who were accepted to attend the summer sessions. My son applied and did not get accepted. Big disappointment. He was honest and said he has a history of asthma. Anyone out there know of anyone who has been accepted to the USNA with asthma?
