| Notification of receiving NROTC Scholarship
Hello, I submitted my NROTC app on time for the first review cycle, and I was wondering if anyone knew when I should expect to find out the decision?
Would it be mid September? late September? October?

My son submitted his app in May of 2008....didn't get the interview nailed down until September (due to a change in recruiters) and didn't hear another word until late January of 2009. He has just started college at his first choice school and is loving it...but the level of communications is no better now! Pack your patience ~ there is a reason that the term SNAFU originated with the military! |

I had my interview in May. All of my materials (transcripts, recommendations etc.) were submitted by July. My status on the application site says the normal awaiting selection thing. So, I would also like to know approximately when I should expect to hear yes or no.

My daughter had app completed and interview by late June. In time for 1st review...numerous SNAFUs. release forms came up missing. Pensecola sent email requesting other top 5 schools because 2 choices were in same unit. Status changed to final selection August 28. Does anyone know if that's a good indication? When was the first review?

My daughter, who is waiting for a possible nrotc scholarship, received on August 20 a letter informing her that she's an official candidate for the U.S. Naval Academy class of 2014. She never applied and prefers NROTC. Does anyone know how this was generated or what it implies?

When S1 applied, he had it all done by end of Aug. and had his letter by end of Oct.
This was five years ago though. He just graduauted/commissioned in May '09.
Good luck to all of you.

My son did all the NROTC paperwork and medical forms during the summer of 2007, but didn't get his scholarship offer until January. It can take plenty of time -- but it turned out great. He just started his sophomore year and seems very happy.

My son completed NROTC and NA application by early Aug. 2007. He was selected on what I believe was the first NROTC board in September, and notified September 27. Naval Academy 3Q'ed came in late Oct. and final appointment was middle March 2008.
