Been awhile...

Wow! I used to get on here all the time! This is my first time getting on CC sinse I-day. Well if anyone remembers me I'd like to thank them, this site really helped. Plebe summer is over (YES!) and ac year is just now really getting underway. If you want any answers to questions from a pleber feel free to ask. I love every opportunity for entertainment and connection to a world outside of this school no matter how limited it may be

Yes, I am here to answer any questions as well. As a direct-entry Prior enlisted Plebe (Yeah, I know, haha) I can help out any other priors here that need advice, or anyone in general. Throw me some questions.

The Academy, by the way, is absolutely outstanding. LOVE IT.

You said you would and you are ...congrats.

How's chow?

What do you miss most from your days in the "free world?"

What's been your killer course?

What things would you recommend for getting a handle on USNA as a possible site for matriculation?

What suggestions for surviving plebe summer?

What's the toughest academic issue?

How's laundry service?

Go!

Forgive for reviving this crazy dead forum, but I have time tonight!

Chow? Loved it during plebe summer, but it slowly gets bland as the menus repeat. Not terrible, not the best. MUCH better than my high school and theres always enough to eat.

Miss the most? Family and friends. Be smart and spend time with them before you go. (music and movies too!!)

Killer Course? Calculus. Chemistry can be hard for a lot of plebes too but Calc is a killer. Prepare yourself with some small reveiw on limits. Just memorize the derivatives.

How to get in? BE YOURSELF! I don't care how motivated you are you are going to hate this place during plebe summer either the whole time or at least a lot of it. Don't accidently get accepted into this school. Be a likable leader, and be humble. Other than that the obvious...SAT/ACT, group leaders, sports, etc.

Plebe summer survival. Run. If you are horrendous at swimming learn to tread water but otherwise you will be fine. Most importantly just keep your sense of humor (lol never ever put "this isnt as hard as I thought" on your first "Though of the Day submission.) KEEP A SENSE OF HUMOR!

Toughest academic issue? For me its writing papers. Use the writing center. If you do they send an email to ur teacher which really (perhaps it shouldnt be) is a letter grade booster for effort.

Laundry service? Not too bad in my opinion, others have had trouble. When the ac year starts ask Mom and Dad for extra black dress socks and white boxers. Your crotch will thank you.

Great insights guys. You're a solid reality check on the issues of daily life. Keep 'em coming for benefit of the wannabes. Congrats on your early progress, keep going, don't do stupid things to crash and burn ...we're all pulling for you.
