Strengths of New Jersey Institute of Tech

For those of you with first hand knowledge, could you tell me about the major advantages of New Jersey Institute of Technology? I am not looking for comparisons with other schools or long lists of gripes. I am essentially asking a question similar to what an applicant might be asked - Why NJIT?

Well.. this is kind of a late reply, I found this when searching for posts mentioning NJIT.

For me personally
- NJIT's small size suits me well. I'd feel lost if there were too many people. It also gives me more chances to interact with professors, form tighter bonds with classmates and take up service/event opportunities. And since most people are commuters many events are left empty because people tend to leave after class, so events often offer prizes for showing up, which are easier to get because there's low attendance
- the Honors program is pretty well designed, and allows for an even more close knit group: I think most of the honors kids in my year know each other by sight, if not by name. Very generous scholarships for me.
- It's close to NYC and Jersey Gardens :P I think NJ public transport in general isn't too bad.
- lack of non-tech/math courses kind of made up for by cross registration
