Topic question. What are you opinions about the econ programs of either of these schools? I would like to specifically major in econ and then perhaps go to law school. I've heard good things about NYU's prog and job placement, is it pretty good?
Intangibles: $10k/year less to attend NYU, and I've been accepted into the honors programs of both schools.
They are simply not in the same league. The NYU CAS Economics is a first-rate economics department, one of the best in the country. Take a look at their web site, http://www.econ.nyu.edu/. The GW Economics doesn't come even close. Moreover, in terms of both overall reputation and academic quality, NYU is far superior to GW.
This shouldn't even be a topic of discussion. NYU's economics department (one of the top 10 in the country by any standard) is FAR superior to GW's econ. dept. (a good department but not a great one). NYU's job placement and law school placement is also way better than GW's.
