| banking near NYU My D will be attending this fall. Currently she has a bank account at the local credit union we use. I would like to find a bank near NYU that also has a branch near our home town. Can anyone tell me which banks are in the washington square area? |

| Look up Chase too...soooo convenient, they're everywhere, including ATMs at most Duane Reade drug stores. |

| Chase also has a special College Checking thing that you may want to check out. I have it and it's really convenient and easy for a college student to handle. |

| I highly recommend Chase, there's locations literally everywhere around "campus." Bank of America really only has one convenient branch (and it's somewhat far), same for Wachovia. |

| I use Bank of America and there is one right back on Broadway.. like 2 blocks from Washington Square. It is convenient, trust me.
There are also Chase, Washington Mutual, Commerce Bank, and Citibank really close. If you want convenience, I'd say go with Chase. It's everywhere. |

| Yes, but Chase is only big in the city, right? B of A is much more prominent outside the city, I think... I'd go with B of A if you're looking for something that will also be available at home. There are two of them on Broadway, one on 8th St. and the other one a couple blocks north, I believe, and then there's one on University Place and 14th as well. |

| I think Chase is everywhere...if it's in New Orleans (where there were quite a few as well), it's anywhere haha.
Basically, the majority of the next four years will be spent here...I'd highly recommend Chase because it's literally EVERYWHERE...I can be anywhere in the city and walk a few blocks and find a Chase. There's also Chase ATMs at every Duane Reade, a drug store chain that is also everywhere (means no extra fees yay). You should definitely consider whether or not there's a couple Chase banks in your hometown, but, honestly, I'd Chase it up, if I were you. |
