hello everyone

i'm EDing and i sent in my application a bit late (11/01, it's allowed i checked) it says "downloaded 11/02/2009" in common app now and i think i'm supposed to get like an ID or something so i can check the status...

how long does it take for them to send me an email ????

Im not sure if NYU gives you an ID. I submitted my application for ED today (11/02) and I didn't get anything. NYU supposedly sends u an email by Nov 15 telling u if they have all the parts of your application. They apparently get ultra swamped from the sheer number of applications they receive.

yes, they give you an id a few days after they download your app.

If I remember correctly from my RD admissions process last year, I got an N number a week or so after they downloaded my app. However, there's no online status check--they give it to you to make it easy for you to deal with admissions. And if you get in, that number basically becomes your lifeline, along with your NetID.

D application was downloaded from the common app by NYU on 10/31 and she received her N number via email today..so I would say its about a 4 day turnaround before you hear from them..Good Luck!

keep your N number handy, because it's good to reference it if you need help later on from admissions.

and if you get in to NYU, memorize it, because you need to put it on like. . . every form, ever.
