SFSU -As a transfer student can I change my major once admitted?

I have been admitted as a Marine Biology major for spring 2012 as a transfer student. I wanted to apply for environmental studies but because I applied for spring admission I was not allowed to apply for environmental studies because they aren't taking applications for impacted majors until the fall.

I'll have a gpa of 3.3 and have relevant internship experience if it makes a difference.

Anyone know if i'll be able to switch over? Or if I can change my major as a transfer student period?
Hoping to get someone who goes to SFSU who knows any info..Thanks!

ALSO- I have already emailed the department of environmental studies like the general adviser told me but it's been over a week with no reply...
