What exactly defines a "non-traditional" student?

Usually someone who has at least one of the following criteria:

1. Has experienced a significant interruption in their undergraduate career. Significant is usually defined as a year or more.

2. Is over 25 years of age.


There is a boom of "non-trads" now returning from military service.
