Ethnicity and Applications Question

I've asked a couple of my friends as well as other sections of forums and I still can't decide what to apply as my ethnicity. I'm half Chinese and half Arabic so as Chinese falls under Asian and Arabic falls under Mediterranean and therefore white... I know that Asian falls under "over represented minority" therefore I'm hesitant in putting down and Asian. Can anyone tell me the pros and cons of putting down Other (chinese and arabic) and white? Or if anyone thinks Asian would be a better choice then enlighten me

There's an "additional" information section on every application. Check whichever box you want, and then clarify your situation there.

Check "Other" and then, as Bait&Switch has said, explain. Being half Chinese and half Arabic is not a mix that colleges see often, so it will help you to stand out from the crowd. And if you have strong ties to your Arabic side in particular and/or if you speak the language, be sure to say so, since this will make you stand out even more.
