Confused High School Years

Ok I went to school overseas and I was in the IGCSE program for 2 years. THe first years I passed 4 OL with an A and 3 B's and my second year I paseed two more OL wit C's but failed my last 2 AS's with E's. Now I'm in the American high school program. I have a 3.6 GPA but I'm a straight A student for about a year and a half now. I ramk 38 out or 89 students. My SAT scores were really low(430 Math, 570 CR, 530 W) however I'm taking them again. I would really love to get into Macaulay Honors College at Hunter or into NC State and study Journalism. But after looking at who they usually accept I'm becoming very stressed and worried that I can't make it.I've done tuttoring for stutudents in ESL, I've done seminars for interfaith community building,I work for a NPO MWIRD of New York and did volunteering for Food Bank of New York. I think that my essays were good but I mean is it too late to do anything? Will they only look at my SAT scores and say no?I know I'm a good student just tests always bring out the worst in me.AHHHH.advice anyone?
