Serious chronic health problems killed 2 years of high school grades!

To make a long story short: I have always been a mostly A student with a couple of B's mixed in here and there. I've also chosen a program with mostly honors courses and have taken a few AP's throughout high school. In 10th grade, I began being effected by symtoms of a chronic and dehibilitating health ailment. My grades then fell from A's and a few B's to a complete mess: many B's, some C's, and a few A's here and there.
Senior year I have Thank God been feeling better on new treatment and have returned to my normal grades. My extra curriculars are pretty solid, I'm good at writing essays and have very good interviewing skills. I'm taking the ACT in 2 weeks. The scores are hard to predict but I do not expect to score any lower than a 27 or 28. (Hopefully it will be much higher!)
Does anybody have experience with someone of a like disadvantage? Can competitive colleges still accept me despite the drops in grades? Does anybody have any advice to help construct a solid college application despite the weak grades in 10th and 11th grade?

I appreciate all the help that I can get!

Hi! This board on CC is for students who are over the traditional age of college students (usually 26+) and returning to college, for the most part. You sound like a high school student. You will get more helpful responses on the main CC boards, which are all for students like you.
