Serious help needed

Okay, i've just been admitted into NC State's engineering program and I had a few questions for you people that know a lot about the college. I've been reading reviews on a lot of colleges lately and a lot of them say that there is some racial tension on campus. One of them being, NC State. Is this true? I am Indian and I am wondering if I will fit in at NC State and if NC State is right for me. I am very amicable to everyone and was just wondering how things are at State. Another question I had was whether or not they have any dorms that I can stay in on centennial campus. Seeing that engineering is moving over there I thought it would be best to live there. Any help would be appreciated!

Regards,
Unforseen

I've never heard of tension there

My S has 2 friends who are North Carolina State and they seem to love it. One is asian, also in the engineering program, and has never mentioned any kind of racial bias. Have you done a visit there yet? Sometimes you can only get vibes from actually being there. Good luck, and congratulations on your acceptance!

Thanks luckysmom. That makes me feel a lot better! I've visited the campus twice but have yet to see centennial campus or the engineering departments. I guess another campus visit is due soon.

Unforseen - my son was accepted there last year (but ultimately decided not to attend) and we didn't see any problems there when visiting. In fact, he really liked the school and the engineering department. You really need to meet with the department, since they have a very detailed tour, Q&A, etc... Good luck.
