Jetx13, What college at NCSU would you be applying to? Some are easier to get into than others.

I would think your chances would be good if you get your SAT score up. The college of management is not as difficult to get in as the college of engineerig but the CoM is becoming very popular with lots of apps. So get that SAT score up. Just curious...why NC State?

Packmom...

I was looking over colleges with my dad, I had a previous list and my SAT score was very unexpected and we were looking at the top ranked business schools. NC State is up their at around 70 and my dad told me that Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill are known as the "Research Triangle."

My dad also said he has been to that area on vacation and said it is beautiful. So I took his word and did some research and the school has alot of things I want, nice location, weather, sports and just an overall good college.

Also thanks for your help...

Thanks PackMom but I have a couple more quesitons:

I don't want to apply early decision so when is the best time to apply?

Right now my SAT's are 1070, but expect to bring it up, how high would I have to bring it up to make my chances seem great?

Jet, Why not apply early decision? It's not binding or anything and you'll find out sooner if you got in or not.

from www.cfnc.org
Stats for incoming Freshman
SAT Verbal SAT Math
500-599....48% 500-599.....36%
600-699....34% 600-699....46%

Jet, Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill is a very nice area. I used to live in Cary (a suburb of Raleigh) and loved it. It is called the triangle because of "RTP" (Research Triangle Park) which is the largest research park in the country. It has also recently been rated the most educated area in the world. It is called the triangle because NC State, Duke, and UNC make a triangle shape.

Now..what you were wanting: admission info. If you check their demographics, you will see it is 91% in-state. That isn't because it's just a state back-up school..but because they are VERY tough on oos. I applied this year, with a 1250 SAT, 29 ACT, and pretty high GPA...yet I was deferred in February and then waitlisted in March. So...you might wanna beef your scores up a lot if you want in. Either that, or move to North Carolina and apply in-state...then you're in for sure.

Thanks for the info PackMom and soccer guy.

PackMom if I apply early decision and get in, I don't have to go if I don't want to. In Florida UF use to have early decision and if you applied ED and got in you had to go.

So can you please give a detailed descipition of their early decision, thanks.

Jetsx13, from the NCSU admissions webpage....All students who apply before Nov. 1st will be considered Early Action and will be notified of their admission standing by mid January. This is not binding. Students have until May1 to make their decsion. Students applying later will have their decisons by mid March.

So there is nothing to lose by applying early.

Hey guys. New info!

My new desired major is Sports Management. My SAT rose to a 1120 and I took the ACT and got a 26.

What are my changes looking like after the new changes?

hmmm... what were the score breakdowns? are you instate or out? what college are you applying for?

i'd say you have a great shot of getting accepted... just do ALL of the optional sections on the application (especially the personal statement and activities section)... really think about your little short answer responses too...

I am out of state and I'm not entirly sure what school Sports Management falls into.

I don't remember my ACT score breakdown, but on the SAT I had a 570 in math and a 550 in CR.
