i know that in turlington hall it's two rooms off a common hallway and those two rooms share a bathroom. Are the two rooms coed or just male or just female?

You are mistaken. Turlington Hall is a hall type dorm meaning that every room opens onto a main hallway (unlike suites) and there are two large bathrooms on each floor for the entire floor to share. It is a coed dorm but males and females don't live on the same floor. My S lived in Owen and there were boys on the bottom 2 floors and girls on the top 2. I think Turlington is pretty much the same.
