Engineering Honors Program a reality?

According to COE website:

1) Completion of at least 50 hrs of coursework
2) Matriculation into a COE dept
3) Total GPA of at least 3.5, unless otherwise designated by the major dept
4) Major GPA of at least 3.5 based on 9 hours in the major or in courses designated by the dept.
5) Faculty may also nominate unusually promising students who do not meet all of these criteria.

How hard is it to get into this program and is anyone in it?

I would think it would be VERY hard to have a 3.5 in engineering .
Are you concerned that the regular engineering program won't be challenging enough? From what I understand, it's pretty tough.

It doesn't seem like this program exists. S visited and asked about it and no one knew anything about it. His main concern was undergrad research and prof told him they encourage this.
