What is the difference between Calc for Life Sciences and Management (231) and Calc 2 (241)? Do you think that the school might not have recieved my Calc score (5) ????

Because, I was pre-registered for Calc Life science class..

It depends what math path you want. I'm a biochem major, and it said I could choose to take Calculus (231) geared toward Life Science or the Calculus (241) geared towards Physics/Engineering. My friend said the Life Sci. Calc. courses are easier. Its recommended if you want to get a masters or a PhD then you go for the harder Calculus courses. Since you're aiming for med. school, it doesn't really matter, unless you want to get a Phd/masters or use ur biology degree for work.

Did you take AP Calc. AB or BC?

Calc. for Life Sciences is a two course sequence A and B. 231 is the second semester course (B).
So if you took AP Calc. AB and got a 5, that placed you out of Calc. for Life Sci. and Mgt. 141 (A). If you took BC, your 5 should have placed you out of both.

Calc. for Life Sci. and Management is supposed to be easier. You should be able to check the requirements for your major and see if you were placed in the wrong one by mistake. If you were not given proper credit for your AP Calc., see your advisor and get it straightened out.

No, I took AB but i was just wondering why I wasn't preregistered for calc 2 but now I understand that it is a 2nd calculus class...
