What are the chances of a student earing scholarships from State after they have a great first year? Packmom, did your son receive any after his first year?

No. My S got two merit schoalrships before he entered as a freshman. They are both renewable for 4 years as long as he keeps a certain gpa.

I think the best chances for scholarships after freshman year would be departmental scholaships. Look on the home page of your major dept. almost all of them have departmental scholarships, some for freshmen and some for upperclassmen.
