Transfer?

I am a freshman at NC State and am thinking about transferring. I'm in First Year College and live in Owen Hall, a freshman dorm. Everyone goes home on the weekend and since I'm from New York, that isn't an option. I'm miserable. Should I transfer?

Sorry to hear you are miserable, floppity. My S also lived in Owen his freshman year (2 years ago). He rarely came home but was out with friends a lot on weekends. We are instate so that makes a difference I'm sure. One of his best friends however was from Iowa. Do you have friends to do things with during the week? Do you like to go to the football/basketball games? Do you get along with your roommate well? Maybe you could check into some of those weekend trips that campus recreation organizes.

I hope Spring semester will be better for you. I think freshmen tend to go home more right at first but not so much in subsequent semesters.
