Biomedical engineering

Interested in biomedical engineering, and understand there's a joint program with UNC-Chapel Hill.

Talked to admissions at NC State and was told we apply there for freshman year, then apply to the BME program after a year.

Anyone have any experience with this program?

It a joint program between the college of Medine at UNC and the College of Engineering at NC State. It is a wonderful degree esp. If you want to become Surgeon or some kind of doctor. I talked to someone in the department and he said that is very common for students to get that degree at NC State and go over to UNC for med school.

You either apply to the program at UNC or NC State. You take classes and get a degree from the school you apply to, but you can take special classes, programs and have visiting professors from the other school.

At NC State, You first have to meet Engr. pre-reqs before you can actually be accepted to the BME program. Like, If you get accepted to the College of Engr., you first have to take General Engr. Classes and then you move on to BME major classes. It is a lot complicated and harder to get into the college since NC State is well known for that area. I am not sure about the program at UNC but I doubt it will be the same.
