My son got in off the waitlist, so far everything has been electronic; the decision letter, the ability to get on myneu, ect...but he hasn't yet received a welcome packet in the mail. Anyone else?

no its not a mistake. I was at Northeastern on friday and spoke with the dean of admissions because i had gotten off the waitlist and wanted to make sure i'd be able to change my major if I were to attend. What she told me was that:
1,200 people were offered spots on the waitlist
800 people accepted spots on the waitlist
30 people had been taken off
she said more people will be taken off as space in their program becomes available

Can those of you who got in off the wait list tell us your majors, SAT scores, GPA's? Just wondering if there's any hope. Thanks. And congratulations!

I had read (somewhere, can't find it again) that your chances of getting off the waitlist was dependent on your major. That health care, pharmacy, and architecture were full and not admitting anyone off the waitlist.

Northeastern Admissions

"As we say goodbye to the Class of 2008, I wanted to take a moment to update you on the incoming fall class. May 1 has passed and we have been busy reviewing deposits to determine our waitlist process. I am happy to say that we have room for about 100 students from the waitlist in specific majors. We handle waitlist notification via e-mail, not through the Decision Status Check. Waitlist admitting is being done only in certain majors where we have some extra room to fill with some of the talented students who were waitlisted. If you are waiting to hear from us, please check your email over the next few days as we may have some space in your major of interest. I can tell you that Architecture, Pharmacy and Health Sciences are all full and we will not be able to admit any students interested in these programs."

Who knows? Debating who to let in? Or maybe they have already let in the 100 kids.
